These boots are made for walking...

No matter who you are, no matter what the weather, boots are a great fall accessory. Most of us hate seeing the summer end, but at least we have one thing to look forward to during the fall: boots. Boots have been quite popular the last few years and it doesn't look like their popularity will be slowing down anytime soon. It is a good idea to have a wide range of colors and styles for any situation.

Recently, boots have become so popular, you might see people wearing them in the summer. You could even see people wearing boots with a nice dress outfit for work. And no, I am not talking about just people in the south. Everyone loves wearing boots. Not only are they fashionable, but they can be practical as well.

Uggs and Fuggs

Most people are familiar with the Uggs brand. When a person mentions the name Uggs, we naturally think of the suede boots with the fur on the inside. However, many brands make that style, so we should not just assume one is wearing Uggs. For the purpose of this hub, we will refer to Fake Uggs as Fuggs.

Uggs are of course extremely popular and durable. Uggs are also extremely expensive. Many brands are on the market now that are just as durable, comfortable, and much more reasonably priced. I happen to buy my Fuggs at Target. They are also available on Amazon. The Target Fuggs are furry on the inside and extremely comfortable. I've owned a black pair and a brown pair for almost two years now. They have tolerated at least a few horrible snow storms and they are still fine. The brand is Xhilaration and I highly recommend them. Plus, if you get them on sale, they are only about $20.

Now, of course, you may say, "But I heard Uggs are no longer in style." What? Who have you been listening to recently? If this is the case, if the fashion police exist, pretty much every female in Baltimore and Philadelphia is going to jail. Uggs are still in style. For that matter, Fuggs are still in style. They are too comfortable for some of us to ever stop wearing. However, everyone does need to stop wearing them with short shorts. There are some crimes of fashion that should never be tolerated.

For the inner cowgirl in all of us...

Lately, western boots have become very stylish. I remember looking for cowgirl boots just a few years ago and coming home empty handed. Now western boots are everywhere and everyone can pretend to be a cowgirl. Sure, you may not be line dancing and you may not be heading to the rodeo, but you will still look good.

Since western boots are so trendy, you can also get them in a number of styles. Perhaps you want sequins or designs on your boots. You may prefer high heels on your boots for a more modern look. You might also like flats with steel toes for a more traditional look. With so many options, you might have to buy more than one pair.

Rain Boots

You've seen them everywhere. You can go to any mall or college and see women wearing cute rain boots. Rain boots used to be something you wore to get to one place and then you took them off before anyone could see you wearing them. Rain boots simply served a practical purpose and that was all. That is just the case anymore. Rain boots have become so fashionable there are probably some gals out there that actually look forward to the rain just so they can wear them.

Part of the appeal is the variety of colors and patterns. For some reason, the funkier the pattern and colors, the better the rain boots. Personally, I own a pair of black and white rain boots with a houndstooth pattern. Not only does it match my umbrella, black and white are great neutral controls that match many outfits.

Last, but never least... Knee High Boots

Oh, the knee high boot. It has many fans. Knee high boots make quite a statement. Aside from being knee high boots, I've heard them referred to as "Go Go Boots" and, well, there is no polite way to say this... "Hooker Boots." These are not boots for the faint of heart. Of course, they've become so popular now, you can expect to see them in more places than just a street corner or a club.

Knee high boots are fun and sexy. You can wear them with a mini-skirt or knee length skirt and look great. You can also choose to cover them up with pants if you are wearing them just to stay warm. I've seen many people wear these boots to the office now. So yes, the knee high boot has come a long way. It is fun, flirty, and fashionable, and isn't that what every woman looks for in cute boots?

Thank you for reading and for the comment. I love boots, too. It is the only reason to look forward to cold weather.

I know what you mean.... I used to hate Uggs too. I would have nothing to do with them. One day, I tried a pair on and it was like having a warm fluffy sheep wrapped around each foot. It was like heaven! So now I have my fake Uggs from Target - my Fuggs. They are so cheap and can survive anything. I know technically they are supposed to be out of style, but everyone around here still wears them. People still wear Ed Hardy around here, too. Sometimes I think I am living in a Jersey Shore episode. It's interesting how much of New Jersey's culture is here in Baltimore. Not sure what to think of that one.

P.S. I have riding boots and knee high boots, too. I simply love boots.

Ugh Jeannie you know I love you but this one time I have to disagree, I HATE UGGS! Hated them when they were popular, still hate them now that they are out of style (because yes they have gone out of style)! You still see them on NYC streets but usually on tourists, lol :-). Really in style lately has been the flat heeled "riding" type boot, I own a few of those pairs and they are perfect, comfy and also very stylish so you can wear dressed up or down. And a sexy knee high boot is always very cute! You still get my vote up but not for the Uggs hehehehe

Thank you for the comment! Yes, boots are definitely the best thing about cold weather. Since I pulled my boots out for the photo, I have been looking at them longingly. I refuse to be "that girl" that wears boots in August though. :-)

Jeannie, as much as I dont want to think about summer coming to an end, I do love shopping for new boots when fall comes around. And these boots are certainly cute!!!
