Garnier Nutrisse Intense Opalescent Red #562 Hair Colour Review

Updated on August 30, 2022

I am a huge true red hair colour fan. I have been using Garnier's Intense Red hair colour for a few years now and love it. I decided during a trip down the hair colour aisle looking for another box of Garnier's True Red so I could do my hair over the weekend I saw this new colour: Garnier Nutrisse Intense Opalescent Red. It was a bit darker but still a true red shade and by Garnier so I knew the shade wouldn't turn orange or fade out quickly.

Garnier Nutrisse Hair Colour Brand Review: Garnier Nutrisse's line of hair colouring is great with long lasting hair colours and unique shades. After using Garnier Nutrisse hair colouring for a few yeas now I can tell you that even though the red shades bleed after colouring for 7-10 days when washed in the shower the colour stays true for 6 weeks. I have tried other brands and they start to fade after 2 - 3 weeks. Colouring my hair is too much work and time to only have a true shade for 2 - 3 weeks. I will continue to stay loyal to Garnier Nutrisse's colours as long as they keep their True Red Line. I really don't want to waste my money on any other brand hoping it will be better and in the end be disappointed when Garnier now offers a True Red and a bit darker True Red. If you love True Red shades that don't fade or turn orange give Garnier Nutrisse Intense Opalescent Red a try. You won't be disappointed.

Best Way to Apply and Get that Long Lasting Colour: Wash your hair at least 12 hours before colouring. Be sure that your hair is dry. Put vasoline or a heavy cream around your hairline to keep the colour from staining your skin. Put on your gloves and have at it. The colour doesn't run or drip. The smell isn't bad. Once I am done applying the colour I put a plastic bag over my head and let it do it's thing for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes I then put a little water on my head and rub it into my hair to make a lather. I then finse it out until the colour runs clear. This takes awhile with hair shoulder length or longer. I then apply the enclosed conditioner and rinse it out well. I use an old towel or a black towel to dry my hair for the next 2 weeks so the colour that does bleed doesn't ruin my good towels. Then again I have a special material towel to dry my hair with most of the time.
