Reasons Why You Should Wear a Side Braid

Adults Can Wear a Side Braid, Too!

This year, many more females have starting wearing the side braid hairstyle. Unfortunately, too many of the people I see wearing side braids are 15 year old girls. I am here to say that adult woman can and should wear side braids, too.

I am sure you've seen the side braid. If you've ever watched a Taylor Swift video, you've seen the look. Initially, the side braid had a "messy" look to it whenever you'd see someone wearing it. The side braid has started to evolve over the year. Not only can you do a small side braid along your hairline on one side, you can even just take all of your hair and put it into one big braid. You can choose to give it a messy look by allowing some hair to hang on the sides or you can neatly put it all in one braid. It is up to you.

If you are an adult woman and you are looking for a new hairstyle, I highly recommend trying the side braid. You will be happy you tried it. If you are looking for reasons why you should give this hairstyle a try, I am happy to help you out.

It's Easy!

Never has there been an easier way to pull all your hair back and out of your face than the side braid. It is perfect for warm weather or for working out. You can simply pull it to the side (you won't even need a mirror!) and braid it without looking. If it isn't perfect, just claim you are going with a messy look. Have you ever tried to french braid your own hair? I'll bet it wasn't easy. Forget all that and just do a side braid. It is ever so much easier than any other braiding look you've probably ever tried.

It's Cute!

I am surprised how many compliments I receive when I have a side braid. I will admit, it looks best if you have long hair. If your hair isn't very long, you may just want to go with a smaller version along your hairline. Once your hair is long enough, one side braid looks awesome. I've seen girls with thick or thin hair pull off the look. This also looks really awesome if you have highlights because of the way the highlights weave through the braid. It is fun to try different types of hair ties or ponytail holders with this look, as well. You can match them with whatever outfit you are wearing.

It's the Perfect Solution for a Bad Hair Day

If you are having issues with your hair, a side braid is the perfect solution. Perhaps your hair is too frizzy. That is OK; with a side braid no one is going to know your hair is too frizzy. Maybe you've forgotten to wash your hair. No worries; you can just braid your hair and it will probably go unnoticed. If you hair is just simply being unmanageable, this is a basic hairstyle that will not give you problems. I happen to have thick, sometimes uncontrollable hair. If I can do it, anyone can.

It's Different

If you are like me, you've run out of good hair ideas. I have long hair and I've worn it in many different styles. I've tried headbands, barrettes, ponytails, pigtails, etc. After a while, I feel like I've "been there, done that" with just about any hair option. I needed some new ideas and this was the perfect new look.

If you are bored with everything you are trying, I think a side braid is your best bet. Give it a try to you will be pleased with the results. Quite frankly, it is such a great, lazy hairstyle, I barely wear my hair any other way these days. And if you think I am alone with this hairstyle, just walk into any mall today. The side braid is the look! No matter how old you are, this is a style we should embrace.

The side braid isn't for you? Hmmmm... can't figure out why that would be the case. Hehe. Yes, I believe messy is supposed to be in... or it is at least safe since you can get away with anything. Thanks for dropping by!

    Jeannie...

No...turns out a side braid is not for me. In terms of the ladies' use (ie...not 15 year old girls) I would venture to say...go with the messy...right? win-win.
