What are some of the traditional fashion rules?
I know that we've had "never wear white shoes after Labor Day" but what are some other odd yet interesting fashion do's and don'ts?
"Red and green should never be seen"...! That's an old one, though I've never really got it. After all, nature made apples red and green.
My favorite: Don't bother to wear underwear on the fourth date......
The great thing about fashion is that the rules are always changing! One rule I remember growing up was not to mix a brown purse with black shoes and vice versa, but I don't think that rule applies anymore. Maybe the rule to "never wear a fanny pack in public" holds true...?
I don't know if the rules are clearly stated anymore. I heard that white is right anytime just make sure you are fashionably dressed. The maxi dress is back in but so is the shorter skirt. Wear colors that work well together, different colors at the same time are ok, but make sure they compliment each other. There is one rule that is constant: always have a little black dress in your closet. It can be dress up or down as needed.

As I get older (grandmother), I am aware that some of my clothes are outdated and do not look age appropriate for me. I still like to look fashionable, but do not want to put people off by wearing things that look like I am trying to turn back the years too far. What do you think?
