How do you apply lipstick on cracked lips and still get a smooth finish?

Sometimes even after application of vaseline and then the lipstick, the cracks still show up on your lips, what do you do to get a smooth finish?

I usually use a bit of vaseline on my lips when they are cracked.  Then I put on the rest of my make up then blot my lips and apply the lipstick.  Keeping chapstick handy and applying throughout the day is a must for me.

I'm not so sure, but one of the best tips I've heard effective is applying vaseline before sleeping and leave it on throughout the night. The next day, apply vaseline then the lipstick. The leave-on vaseline (while you sleep) will seep deep into the skin giving smoother lips. Hope that helps :smile Thank you vellur.

To combine the two tips above, you could opt for a tinted lip moisturizer. There are even some that increase plumpness.

A tinted lip moisturizer? I have never used one like that. Will try. Thank you.

In addition to everything else that others suggested, you could put a thin layer of clear lip gloss over the lipstick to help smooth
