How long does transplanted hair last?
I was just curious about how long a hair transplant lasts? Is there a warranty for the hair if it does not last longer than a year, five, even ten years ?
Some hair is genetically programmed to survive throughout life (usually found in the scalp along the sides and back of the head). When these follicles are transplanted to another site (front of the scalp for, example) they can be expected to survive as long as they were to live in their original location assuming that there is no intervening new problem that affects them. If they are programmed to not-survive until a certain age, this will also hold true.
