    How do you make a non formal dress look formal?

    So I have a spring formal coming up but my mom got me a dark blue casual dress instead of formal how do I make my dress look formal without asking my mom to spend any money on anything? Please reply before April 19!

    Since your dress is a solid color this will definitely be much easier than if there was a lot of pattern!  You can always jazz up solid items with jewelry or shoes - look through your closet, or perhaps plan to borrow something from a friend.  You can also dress up a solid dress with a scarf or belt. If you're looking for a way to get a more formal outfit without your mom having to spend money, then maybe try to pick up some babysitting, save money and buy yourself a different dress or some accessories.

      I made it a little bit more formal by adding some 4inch black heels but it still looks plain but that is a good idea on the scarf thing.
