In terms of physical features the Micromax Canvas HD A116 is as follows:
Shape: The Micromax Phone as most smartphones out there is in the shape of a bar.
Screen: The Canvas HD A116 has a capacitive LCD touch screen, which again is similar to any other smartphone out there.
Screen Size: 5 inches, which the same as the Galaxy Grand and bigger than the S3, so yea it's a pretty good feature for a smartphone priced at the same as that of a mid range phone.
Resolution: HD, 1280 x 720 Pixels with 16 M color display. Clear crystal sharp images. Good visibility under direct sunlight as well. 1280 x720, that's full HD viewing and along with the 5 inch screen, you can now watch movies in comfort on your Canvas HD A116.
Dimensions: 74x144x10.7 mm. As you can see it's really sleek. Got a nice curved back and fits well in your palm.
SIM: Dual SIM, GSM + GSM. You can use 2 GSM sims in your Canvas HD A116, your personal and business phone all in one. It operates at the usual GSM - 900, 1800; UMTS - 2100, so high speed 3G connections are smooth and fast.

In terms of performance features the Micromax Canvas HD A116 is as follows:
OS: Android v4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). The Micromax Canvas HD A116 comes with stock Jelly Bean 4.1.2 out of the box, the latest Android Version out there.
Processor: It has a 1.2 GHz, Quad Core, which should be faster than the Galaxy grand and equivalent to the s3 being a quad core smartphone.
RAM: The Canvas HD also comes with a 1 GB of RAM, the more than enough to prevent lagging and along with the 1.2Ghz quad core processor, you can be assured smooth gaming and lag free experience with the phone.It also has a 4 GB of ROM, that is internal memory.
Internal Memory: Outta the 4 GB of internal space, you get 1.77 GB free, as the system uses the rest. The 1.77 GB, is more than enough for nearly every app out there. Use apps2sd to move your apps to your memory card and you get a lot more space.
Expandable Memory: The Canvas HD A116 external memory can be upgraded with a microSD, of upto 32 GB, which can stored practically an unlimited amount of photos, videos and even movies or apps.

The Micromax Canvas HD A116 comes with an impressive 2000 mAh battery (same power as most tablet batteries) which should last you for atleast an entire day on one charge.
