How to do a Hard Reset on an Android Phone - Factory Reset - Droid Reset

Android is about the hottest thing out there right now. There are literally hundreds of devices that run Google's Android Operating System with more being launched every week. As Android continues to eat up more and more of the Smartphone market, more and more people are finding themselves needing help with their devices. A wanted to provide a couple of quick trouble shooting steps to assist you with your Android device. Please note that these steps will erase ALL information on your phone.

  • Factory Hard Reset! (Software access)
  1. From the main home screen, tap menu
  2. Tap Settings, then Privacy
  3. Tap Factory data reset
  4. Tap Reset phone
  5. Enter your password, then tap Yes to confirm


  • Hard Reset (Using Hardware)
  • Hold the Volume Down button
  • Press and release the Power button
  • You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
  • Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
  • Press and release the Power button
  • Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO

      is the hard reset for android tablets or just the phones? i have a coby kyros mid7033 4 ice cream sandwich tablet. i put a pattern password on it and locked myself out.
