Skooba Wrap iPad Case Unstructured Protection

Updated on March 15, 2011

A structured, protective and versatile iPad case such as the ZooGue is not always necessary. Skooba has a unique iPad case that is not really a case at all. It is more like a cozy blanket that wraps the iPad up for a soft and padded ride in a messenger bag or in a carryon bag. Tuck it among other gadgets, books or clothing. It is very simple and can be used to wrap an iPad, a camera, or a small laptop as well as anything else that needs a little bit of loving care.

Four hook and loop or Velcro closure tabs are sewn to each corner of the Skooba Wrap iPad Case. When the iPad is placed in the middle of the Skooba Wrap each corner is pulled over it one at a time. The tabs grab each other to form an envelope shaped pouch. The fabric is soft and quilted and weighs very little. The Skooba Wrap is revisable so one side can be demure while the other can be bright and cheery. The simple design provides protection for scratches and some bumps. If you are squeamish iPad owner you may want to experiment with the Skooba Wrap to find the best uses for it. I can see it as a perfect way to tuck your iPad into an over-night bag saving you from the hassles of carrying multiple proprietary bags while on a short trip. With such a reasonable price tag – under twenty dollars – you may want more than one to accommodate other electronic gadgets.

Multiple functionalities are not what the Skooba Wrap iPad Case is all about. It does one job and it does it well. It provides a plush and soft covering for an iPad and it has a tiny pouch in one corner for carrying an SD Card or other small peripheral. I know what you are thinking – the iPad has no need for peripherals but remember that other gadgets do. There are three sizes to choose from. The small Skooba Wrap measures 12 inches x 12 inches, the medium Skooba Wrap measures 16 inches x 16 inches and the large Skooba Wrap measures 22 inches x 22 inches. All have 1/8 inch foam layered in the middle to add loft and protection.

The Skooba Wrap iPad Case would work well for all of those cables, chargers and adapters that we all have to carry with us when traveling. They are unruly and rarely conform to a specific shape but could be corralled with the Wrap.
