How can I stop so many back ground processors starting when I boot up?
I have as many as 60 back ground things happening, it must slow my computor
start ~> run ~> type in "msconfig" (without quotes) ~> startup, and untick the processes you don't want to have running at startup. Reboot to take effect immediately.
You will then find that if you have to manually start any of those programs you can but they won't be continually running in the background slowing you down.
It will also speed up your computer if you move unnecessary files like movies and photos you don't use much to a back-up or external hard drive.
Can you name at least some of them?
Often software installs additional services that are not needed (e.g. adobe reader_sl.exe). Malware can be running its own start-up services as well.
Hi Guys
many thanks for help i'll certainly give it a try.
Cheers Tony

But one should never uncheck the Antivirus or Protection software from the startup. It will make the computer vulnerable in terms of security.
