   One thing you can do is identify the manufactures of the motherboard (Asus, Intel) then download from their website a utility which will give you this information

   Better to download a software application for Windows...Everest Free Edition.  If your hardware has CPU Temp. Monitoring and reporting Everest will pull it and show it to you.  As well as quite a few more important things.

   Many of the softwares i downloaded to check cpu temperature proved to be useless. If anyone can give the name of a software that allows free download and i do not want any trial version.

   As anybody else has commented, ie via bios or a program (http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/ or http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/ or http://www.cputhermometer.com/ or a myriad of others) , assuming your motherboard/cpu setup has a monitor. Many older computers, especially laptops, don't have accessable system thermometers or ones at all.

   I use a program called speedfan, it's easy to use and you can monitor your fans from it as well.
   
   You can also check in your BIOS.
