The most important thing in creation blog is Blog URL. Try to include your keyword in your URL. Give keyword rich title and Description of your blog. And the second thing you should take care of your blog post as we all know Search engine love fresh things so if possible try to update your blog on daily basis with interesting and relevant content. It will help you a lot. Ping your blog in famous blog ping sites. Blog directories and Blog RSS submission sites are available you can also submit your blog over there. Place Google analytic code in your blog and keep tracking it. These are some basic tips. So Go ahead Guys and HAVE A SUCESSFUL BLOGGING!!!
Blog doesn't need On page SEO the best thing is to have an excellent content and interesting topic and choosing the right keyword is a must as well.
I think On page optimization is not really necessary in a blog the important is you have a unique URL and competent keyword plus excellent content I think your blog would be easy to be indexed.
OK... Content is King but that doesnt mean a Blog doesnt need SEO. Depending on how Your Blog is run SEO needds can vary. I use Wordpress and tweak it in several ways to be more seo friendly.
NO H1 Headings in the Header of the Blog !
Change Wordpress Permalinks to insert the Post Title into the URL of the Post
Delete the Blog Name from the Page Titles except for the Home Page.
Use H1 H2 and H3 Headlines inside Your Post and put Your main Keyword in there.
Use the alt attributes of images to insert your keywords
Thereare some more tweaks You can apply.
