Get feedbacks, voted by many people, good traffic and also quality articles.
Not to forget backlinking..
With the "Google 4.0" implementation, they seem to really be focusing on traffic. The key is to have a few backlinks first, then get some traffic from various domains.
Like everything else, the quality (pagerank) of the domains that send you traffic is very important. Get this right and you'll see an almost real time response from Google.

I been on a couple of days and pretty much all my traffic is from hubpages. I get a couple from digg but that is about it. How are people getting their traffic from google and other search engine?
