Run a Mac or a system with Linux. If your using a Windows OS unplug your computer from the network or any internet connections and only install programs from trusted sources. Personally I wouldn't really call a computer without an AV secure.
the best way is to do system restore if you think something might affected your system..
got to command prompt by entering cmd in run and then type
and then hit enter..you will be redirected to system restore frm where you can restore your computer to well known date
It is difficult to secure a windows pc without anivirus.
But if you have linux then no problem.
Even MAC computer are targeted by hackers and Trojan horse nowadays.
