Have Backup and Retriever softwares helped in fighting hacking , at least on moral counts?
The purpose for backup software is not to fight hacking but to protect against the loss of data. Backup software creates an archive of information that may be used to restore lost data in the event of a disaster. A disaster could be a fire or a server crash.
In some instances, restoring an image backup of a system can eliminate the effects of an occurrence of a hacker attack but this is not the true purpose for the software.
