    What does this mean?

I've just had my laptop returned from repair with an incident sheet indicating what needed sorted. I've tried to call them to get clarification but I'm constantly being put in a long cue for custormer services. Is there anyone who can help with the following items. This is what has been fixed:

1.PCB exchanged 2. BIOS updated. What do these terms mean?

Many thanks in advance for any help given.

PCB is the printed circuit board. The BIOS software is built into the PC, and is the first code run by a PC when powered on ('boot firmware'). The primary function of the BIOS is to load and start an operating system.
    Hope that this helps.

It sounds like they replaced the motherboard, which is the main PCB in the laptop.  Updating the BIOS to the current version is standard practice when installing a new board.

I agree with skear. Motherboard was replaced and BIOS was flashed to the most current version.
