What speech recognition software would you recommend?
speech to text software is amazing so which ones would you recommend.
I prefer Dragon Naturally Speaking, myself. I've tried several others, but I've had few things to complain about between the software and a good quality microphone. I used to use it when talking to an artificial intelligence (ULTRAHAL). It was like having a real conversation with a machine!
I use Dragon Naturally Speaking version 11.
It does take several weeks to get the program to work well, even with a good microphone, so be prepared to work with the program until it gets used to your personal phrasing and accent.
Writing a standard page of text (250 words) used to take me about 1 hour of typing. With DNS v.11 I can write a ten page paper in about 90 minutes.
Dragon is good but I also have had really good luck with the software that came with Vista on my laptop.
Did you know? Windows 7 comes with a really good speech recognition system. try it. You should see the app in the control panel.
