Is there an open source, copyright free music source on the internet?
We all know where to find free pics to use on our hubs, is there a similar kind of thing available with free music to use commercially (not for personal use)?
There are many sites that offer royalty free music that you don't have to pay to use commercially or privately. One of the most popular ones that I usually use is http://www.royaltyfreemusic.com/. If this doesn't have what you're looking for you can find other sites from a simple Google search of 'royalty free music.'
The simple and most accurate answer is No. That would be illegal as music is the intellectual property of the author just like your car is your property. Anyone who tries to use your car without your explicit permission is stealing it. Likewise, using somebody's music without their explicit written permission is stealing.
Furthermore, technically, this also applies to images, graphics, and videos as well. There is no way to legally use another person's image, graphic, video, or any other creative work without their permission.
Thanks for your answer Daffitt, however, there ARE photo sites where people post their photos and allow you to use them for free and I wondered if there is a similar type of music site where musicians post music and allow you to use it for free.
