Windows 7 IE8 do not allow program file downloads. You alter settings then warnings. How to fix??
Please explain options and problems? Why all the security? It is like black screen of death.
It's probably your firewall that's blocking the downloads rather than the browser. Check the settings. If it's not that, it' s possible Windows 7 just doesn't want to work with IE8 since it's an old browser. Try upgrading to IE9, Chrome, Firefox etc.
In Internet Explorer open:
Tools > [Internet] Options > Security and select the zone you are attempting
to download in. Then click the 'Custom Level...' Button.
Firstly, scroll down to the 'Downloads' Node and make sure that:
a) 'Automatic Prompting for file downloads' is enabled
b) 'File download' is enabled
