Is Google on the way down?
Google's stock plummeted by $73.70 (almost 10%!) in the last two trading days due to lower costs-per-click as people rapidly move from the desktop to mobile devices. Is this just a temporary blip on Google's stellar record, or the start of a long downward spiral as mobile devices get more popular?
Right now mobile ads are cheap because mobile devices are in their infancy. As traffic continues and ads become more advanced they will start getting more clicks. Then they will become more expensive. 10 years ago you could buy ads for as little as 1 cent Now you are lucky to find a .10 cents Adwords long tail keyword. I don't see search engines like big G having any long damage because they will eventually make more on mobile ads. However, I don't see them having a bright short term future either. As a matter a fact, I would say that almost any company that sells ads will suffer in the short term. This includes companies like Facebook, Blogs, and even Hubpages.
As a side note I would also like to point out that Google is one of the better diversified companies in the search engine business. They may not make a lot on mobile ads right now but they make money several different ways. This may hurt them but their competitors will likely be hurt much worse. This may actually turn in their favor in the long run if some of their competitors actually go under or even get bought out by big G.
Definitely a temporary blip. Google is a key technology company that will be around and dominating for a long time.
A lot of people that I know are switching over to Bing, and others don't care what they use. I still prefer Google. Keep on hubbing
I wouldn't say so giving the fact how popular google actually is.

We recently rolled out a change that makes viewing hubs using a mobile browser a better experience. Basically, we've removed the sidebar and stripped away anything that wasn't essential. We've tested it on...

I just realized that people are using full width images in their hubs again, even at the beginning. The team used to tell us NOT to do that because at the top of the article a photo makes a post take to long to...

Hi Hubbers,We've been engaging with some outside help on helping bring more traffic to HubPages. It's going to be an iterative process where we take recommendations, test them out on the site, and adjust. ...
