I think if you have a good number of friends in your social sites, it will be helpful.
Choosing a good guest blog will support your blog also.
Share it in social sits like facebook and twitter. You also can write an article and submit it in the top most article directories........
Social media is a great way to promote, but it is important that it is done in a professional way. Create accounts that are separate from your personal accounts and be sure to create a "page" on Facebook rather than another personal account. People are now accustomed to the format of pages and recognize them as a business. If your goal is to get more views to your blog, be sure to link back to your blog as much as possible. Instead of posting the main link of your blog, post a link to a new post with a catchy title.
Online directories and listing sites are a great way to get readers. Be sure to categorize correctly so your blog is found under the right keywords. Relevant keywords = higher search engine rankings. Higher search engine rankings = more views.
Network with other bloggers and and work on getting backlinks to your posts and offering links to other blogs. This creates credentials for your blog and again, increases google rankings.
Thanks this is a great answer. What is the best means to netwrok with other bloggers?
It will take a lot of research, but in the end it's best to find other blogs that are relevant to your own blog. Find blogs that will enhance your own posts. Ex. link to someone featuring recipes if your blog is about diet and food health.
like the others said, social media and networking will be your friend.
Have you considered starting a YouTube channel? that's great for getting you and your blog's name out there.
Also check out ones like Pinterest, Tumblr, and of course Facebook and Twitter (These two are staples) Making an 'official' facebook page will help.
A great way to quickly gain readers is a giveaway! Have one, and tell your readers to tell their friends so that they can gain more entries. In order to truly profit from it, tell them that in order to be entered they have to be subscribed to your blog/channel or they have to like your Facebook page, or follow you on Twitter. That sort of thing.
If you want to get your blog's name known in your local area, you can make stickers and put them on your car's bumper.
Also do collabs with well known bloggers who are in the same niche as you.
Guys have said quite a few things to promote your blog. For fast and secure result, you need to use guest blogging. It is the fastest way to promote your blog, although this method requires a lot of work, writing articles and the rest, but i believe it worth the effort. I made a post recently on how to promote your blog, http://www.uniqueblogging.com/9-ways-to … your-blog/ i stated and briefly explained nine different way to promote your blog. My favorite is guest blogging and i thinks you should give it a shot.
