What's the difference between DVD/CD Replication and duplication?
We're looking into a company to print our DVDs for our video production company, and one company offers a DVD replication service and a DVD duplication package. I don't understand the difference
Usually, replication means they are using burnable media, while duplication means they will create a "gold master", the "stamper", and mass produce the result.
Duplicate is cheaper if you go large quantities, but there's a startup cost as the "gold master" cost money to create (several hundred dollars), but per media cost is lower, much lower.
Replicate is cheaper if you're looking for low quantity runs (a few dozen, a hundred...)
