From someone who just signed up for this, how do you get started?
The best place to start is the Learning Centre. It will tell you everything you need to know about what makes a good hub and how to create one.
Lurk around. See how the website works. Read some hubs, comment on some hubs and forums, answer some questions. That'll loosen you up.
While you do so, start forming an idea of what you want to do here. What kind of hubs you want to share and start shaping them as you go.
Write a hub about something you know very well. Answer some questions. Ask some questions. Learn how to use a camera, and learn how to put the photos on your computer. Photos can really help your hubs, and you can also use them when answering and asking questions.
Don't be afraid to try. It's really fun here on Hub Pages!
Best of luck to you,
