What software terms or web terms seem to confuse you the most?
Ok, am I the only one on the face of the planet who struggled with the term "default" 25 years ago? I took a course in Word for Windows way back, and I was TOTALLY hung up on "default", thinking...(well, I don't know what I was thinking, but I didn't think it meant going back to the way the program was originally set up!) And now on a website builder I'm using, the word "Launch" throws me every time. It means in this case to "start" your session, not to launch the whole darn website you're building. My software husband has no problem with terms like these. What software terms trip you up?.
Ports.
I've never understood ports, although I can admit I haven't put much time into researching it. I can port forward and find certain ports, but what they do is beyond me...
Taking a course eventually which covers port at some point.
A few years ago in college I had a tough time visualizing what the OSI Model really is. The 7 layers are really just used to understand and implement other computer concepts.
Another one was AOL when they were a budding company. I was young, and just getting started with computers. We'd get a disc for free in the mail, and I thought it must've been a shipping mistake. I soon found out that the discs were only good as coasters.
