You have to buy a machine that does the transfer for you. the easiest one I've found lets you put the VHS tape in one side and the blank DVD in the other then follow the directions and record. Bought it at Sears but cannot remember the brand...Sony I think.

What's the best way I can get rid of VHS tapes? We have a closet full of VHS tapes, want to get them out as part of Spring-cleaning. We don't own a VHS tape-player anymore, obviously. All suggestions are welcomed.

Is it worth it to buy a VHS converter to change all your VHS' to DVD?And if you do, what do you do with it when you're done with it? Is it a waste?
