Outlook Express problems
I am using Windows XP Pro (SP3) and MS Outlook Express.
Some time ago it happend that I lost (in my inbox) about 6 months of emails in the way that there was year 2009, part of 2010 and whole 2011. So there were some emails missing in the middle. I did not deleted them or similar.
Now I got the same problem. In the inbox I am missing 3 months of emails for this year.
My files are not larger than 2GB, so its not this kind of problem.
I belive there could be some coruption in index or sth similar. What programs do you suggest to test/repair my email database files?
I can't say for sure what happened, or how to fix it. But I do know that Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, which opens it up to various threats. Vista or higher is still given regular updates. Also, most (if not all) email providers are exclusively online now, so your messages would be saved on their servers. Depending on what your email is (@something.com) you might be able to go directly to the website and log in with your information. It's possible the emails were saved there. The outlook program that came with older versions of windows was always a bit of a pain.
You can use Outlook Express Repair Toolbox provides efficient way of Outlook Express database repair tool download so you may apply this software to fix DBX file issues, caused by various reasons.
