Is being social being on social media?
many of us say we are socialized but are we actually socialized? Do we actually have millions of friends, aren't we afraid of expressing our selves to someone in public?
Yes, social media is a very valid form of socialization even though it is completely different than in person socialization.
When you are socializing online you have to show emotion based on word choice, punctuation, and more recently, emojis. So those who do a lot of interaction online are likely to be more articulate than those who do not because they must convey body language through words.
Socialization in person has less focus on words and more focus on body language and verbal inflection.
Socialization has nothing to do with the number of friends, just how well you interact with those friends as well as others.
