How does everyone feel about Elon Musk's new acquisition of Twitter?

I have a Twitter account but don't use it, so "it don't matter to me", as the song goes....

Well, I have an opinion, but I'll just keep it to myself.

It always gets a bit too heated.

I don't do Twitter, and I have no plans to take it up any time soon, so it's a non issue for me.

My own preference would for this odious purveyor of half truths, lies, bullying, and unmoderated rubbish to be closed down. I would like to see a similar fate befall the "topical forum" here on HubPages.

Responsible publishers moderate their platforms to ensure that a respectful and intelligent discussion on issues can take place. But, the yelling and screaming past one another that is the Twitter zeitgeist sets democracy and civic engagement back.

I have long since severed any relationship with Twitting and topical forums.

Apparently, twittering is very entertaining for a vast amount of people. Twitter-World is a reality to them. Something worth reading and posting on. They react to what they perceive is reality and experience something meaningful.

Maybe someone will explain it to us who have no clue, here on this HubPages Forum thread.

Why did Twitter want to sell?

What if the United States became so broke it agrees to be bought by some super-rich aliens that fly to earth?

        Some answers found on internet.
        White males like twitter.
The founder of Twitter lost control to his young, woke employees and was happy to get back to what he had envisioned: freedom of speech.
