    Today as the personal details of 100 million FACEBOOK users is published on the internet on a single file by a company highlighting the failings of internet security - the FBI have issued the following warning -

    Cyber Chief Describes Efforts to Combat Cyber Crime on Social Networking Sites

    Wed, 28 Jul 2010 15:33:42 -0500

    Gordon Snow, assistant director of the FBI's Cyber Division, says, "Cyber criminals are using a variety of schemes to defraud or victimize innocent social networking site users."

    Innocent or stupid?  People have options, and not everything has to be shared.  If you choose to put the information out there and make it public, then you should expect that someone looking for financial gain is going to harvest it.

    It's like people who throw out their receipt and warranty then want a new chainsaw when theirs breaks [retail perspective!]. If you did the right thing in the firstplace, it wouldn't be a problem now.
