    Fortunately, there is a way to disable this feature on your cell phone to prevent this.

    Do I understand that even if the photo is not sent directly to the social website, the information is still hidden in it somehow?  That's what I inferred from the possibility that a location could be found after the geotagging is disabled, if a friend sends the photo on to a different site. 

    I only send cell phone photos to other phones or to an e-mail (my own or someone else's). How would this feature affect me?
