Hackers Attacked Apple Ipad | 300,000 iPads Sold in 1 day | Gameloft Released New Games

Updated on March 14, 2011

A group of popular hackers called, Dev Team, who have had already broken security mechanisms of iPhone have now jail broken IPAD and unblocked its order to install unauthorized applications. This latest device from Apple sold 300,000 copies in the United States on Saturday.

The Apple Ipad, which proved a bestseller on its release date was pirated in just over 24 hours of its release and hackers placed a video on YouTube (see video below) and a message on Twitter to inform about this. This video was released by MuscleNerd on YouTube. After going through this video, owners of Apple iPad can modify original Apple applications and install third party applications not authorized by the manufacturer.

George Hotz, iPhone Hacker, claims that they have developed a latest hacking software for iPad which can be used at iPhone and iPod Touch also. The new software is much more advanced and simple to use than the previous version called as blackra1n. It has been also mentioned that MuscleNerd has used the same exploit to open up iPad which he used to open up the iPhone OS which was recently in news. The basic point here is that Apple's New Device runs on same OS as OS3.2 iPhone used to run. So this may be the reason why it took MuscleNerd just a few hours to break the codes of iPad with multitasking features.

300,000 iPads Sold On First Day

According to Apple, more than 300,000 copies of IPAD have been sold on Saturday.. IPad Users downloaded more than one million applications from App Store and more than 250, 000 books from iBookstore of electronics, which confirms how IPAD rivals e-readers like Amazon's Kindle. It is also expected that iPad sales will increase again in United States at end of month when iPad will be available with a version of the device with 3G connection to the Internet, as the current model only has Wi-Fi.

Amazon has not released Apple iPad on its stores when I searched on April 10, 2010 today but if you are searching for where to buy iPad latest release, then you can buy it from ebay store.

Amazon Launches Version of Imdb - Gameloft Releases New Games - Disney Releases Comics Apps

On one hand the supply and demand of products for IPAD is increasing, on the other hand, the creator of most advanced video games, Gameloft, has published a new game for iPhone shooters, Modern Combat and Sandstorm –Shooter with UNO - The Card Game, Real Football 2010 for iPhone and iPad, Let's Golf HD NFL 2010 for iPhone, and the Asphalt 5 for iPhone.

It is also interesting to note that Amazon has also released a version of Internet Movie Database (IMDb), portal film for the new iPad from Apple.

The Walt Disney, Incorporated has also prepared a free application which lets you view your favorite comics on IPAD making available to its users the heroes of Marvel which was a company acquired by Disney in 2009. Kid’s favorite heroes will include Iron Man, Spider-Man, Hulk, X-Men, etc.

It is also in the air that in late April, IPAD will be available in Australia, France, Canada, Italy, UK, Japan, and Switzerland.

@L3B0, yes you are right. Also jail breaks are an old story for all new gadgets which come up in the market whether it is iphone, ipod, any latest cell phone etc. but I don't know how these hackers make money doing this. Once I will learn about this I will publish a hub.

@london_guide, I think iPad is slated for 24 April UK Release and not April 21 so you it is a little more late there. Anyways, thanks a lot for your comment.

Jailbreaks for the iPad are going to be flying in now that they can get into the system files. Doubt there will be malicous hacking though, more on the "fully customizable side" of things like jailbroken iPhones/iTouches. :)

      Good Hub

This is an excellent hub indeed. Also, you must be knowing that Apple has stopped the distribution of iPads until April 21, 2010 in United Kingdom due to these hacking attacks on ipads. These hackers are really disturbing. I am waiting for the ipad to be released in London.

I would be eagerly waiting for that hub Soni. As you can see in my hublog that Ipad is one of my motivation for this challenge(infact my biggest motivation) and would really like some user first hand review.

Hi Natasha, I am also waiting for iPad's arrival in India. By the time, it comes to India, I have asked one of my friend in US who is going to buy an iPad tomorrow or day after to give me some live details about this new product. I actually asked him for a short review. Once he has bought it and given me the review. I will publish it over here at hubpages. I have asked for a review starting from unpacking it and using it in an advanced mode with all the features and specs. I really like how Apple users are responding to iPads. Will be providing more updates and news on ipad by the way it is released in India and it comes in my hands.

Hello hubpageswriter, thanks a lot for your feedback. Though iPad does not have a camera but it has camera connection kit and camera holes. Some gadget geeks are discussing on this topic, "Could no camera be an iPad killer" and some are saying that the iPad does not have a camera, but it does not matter at lot as it has various other multitask functions and features.
