Where to Buy Refurbished iPhone 5

Updated on July 27, 2013

Why Buy a Refurbished iPhone 5? Is it worth it?

If you want to know where to buy a refurbished iPhone 5, look no further. The iPhone 5 is perhaps the most sought after smartphone in the history of phones since Alexander Bell overheard his assistant, Thomas Watson, pluck a reed over the wire. In this humble writer's opinion, the iPhone 5 is also the most stylish and gorgeous-looking smartphone out on the current market. It is difficult to compete with Apple's iPhone due to their strengths in both the technology and looks department. If you are hoping to buy a new iPhone 5, I suggest you purchase a refurbished model because you'll save yourself a great deal of money that can be spent elsewhere.

Apple products are known for their incredible high-quality, and as a result, even their used MacBooks, iPods and iPhones work seamlessly for many years. The difference between a used model and a refurbished model is that, refurbished models usually have only been used for 30 days, the given time period in which consumers can return their purchases and fully receive their money back. The vast majority of these consumers return the iPhone not because there is a particular defect with the product, but because their preferences have changed. They may want to swap for a different color or they may want the equally popular Samsung Galaxy S3. Once these phones are received by Apple, they undergo several procedures to test their competencies and to make sure that there are no flaws (external and internal).

Refurbished iPhone 5 from Amazon

It is so strange how fast time flies by. I remember when I purchased the first iPhone in 2007. Since then, the iPhone has evolved into the most stylish and beautiful smartphone the world has ever seen. If you look at the iPhone 5 and compare it to the very first first one that hit the market nearly a decade ago, you can see how much has changed. Today's Apple smartphone has become incredibly thin, while packing a lot more power in terms of software capabilities.

I still remain a loyal fan of the iPhone because it revolutionized the way we communicate and interact with each other. It has also created a huge and profitable industry that has helped thousands of people to raise the bar on their standard of living.

The internet has leveled the playing field for consumers and has allowed them to search for the best products for the best prices within a very short time. On the contrary, if you are trying to buy a refurbished iPhone at a store in the real world, you would have a lot of trouble determining the best deal because it is so time consuming to check different stores. Below, I will provide you with the three other places to buy an iPhone 5 other than Amazon.

1. The official Apple site has a great selection of iPhones, MacBooks and iPods. Since they are the ones making the products, you can be rest assured that you will get your purchases in a quick and safe manner. The only drawback to using their site is that they don't always carry refurbished and discounted products. You will have to check frequently to see if they carry any. Usually, there is a nice batch of supplies during the fall and winter when the demand for Apple products are at a peak.

2. Verizon, AT&T and Sprint all carry the iPhone 5 and they may sell refurbished ones as well. You'll see on their site that the iPhone 5s they sell come with a two year contract. Thus, the prices on the ones that come with a contract are sold at a fraction of the price. From time to time, you'll be able to find good deals if you're lucky.

3. eBay and Craigslist are the last places I would check for a refurbished iPhone 5. There are a ton of new, used and refurbished iPhones on eBay that are sold by consumers as well as businesses. Always check the ratings of the seller and never purchase a deal that is too good to be true. Craigslist is similar to eBay, but there is no auction system where consumers have to bid for products. On Craigslist, consumers can meet directly with the seller and hand over the money after testing the product. Always meet the seller during broad daylight where there are a lot of people.

I like the black iPhone 5 because the screen pops out more when emitted from a black frame. A black iPhone is less likely to appear "dirty" compared to the white iPhone.

Although, I've always been a fan of the color black, I was really tempted to get the white iPhone 5 because it looks so clean and pristine with its minimalistic design.

iPhone 5 on eBay

Over the years, I've purchased and sold hundreds of items on eBay. I've always had a great experience using their site and I thank them for boosting my personal income. eBay is the world's largest online auction site and they sell pretty much every product imaginable. I've even bought several iPhones from eBay and haven't had any problems using them in my personal life.

iPhone 5 vs. iPhone 4S

For those of you who are currently trying to figure out whether to buy an iPhone 5 or an iPhone 4S can check out the video below. I personally would go for the iPhone 5 because it has a completely sleeker design and is thinner than its predecessor. I'm also a big fan of the upgrade in speed in terms of opening up apps and utilizing different aspects of the phone.

Which is the best smart phone out on the market?

With the huge influx of ultra high tech smart phones on the market, it is difficult to make the right choice based on what you need and what you hope to use your phone for. Are you a businessman who needs to constantly be checking his email? Are you a stay at home mom who enjoys Skyping and watching videos? Are you a student who needs to in touch with social media? Whoever you are, there is a perfect phone out there for you.

The iPhone 5 was not the most desirable iPhone on the market, our friends and family liked the iphone 4 or iphone 4s and did not want to go for iphone 5. it is just a saturation, like when almost nobody cares about how much megapixels a camera can offer. the touch of the significant items is gone and apple is not able to regain this magic for he moment. the iphone 5 was slicker but also more expensive. it is not that it is not good, but it just misses the certain extra apple gave on the way.
