Fairyland in the Real World
I’ll take you your in the fairyland. If we love storytelling, I believe we all familiar with Hans Christian Andersen. He was a great author who created hundreds of classic folk stories and fairy tales. He was born in Odense, southern Denmark, in April 2, 1985. From his work we may know this, like: The Nightingale, The Shoes of Fortune, The Snow Queen, The Wild Swans, The Red Shoes, etc. Most of the fairytales have beautiful places, it called fairlyland. Do you want to see the fairlyland in person? How does this happen in the real world, because it’s just a story? Please believe me and I’ll bring you to these places. Most of these places are totally awesome and believe me that all of you will see the fairyland in the real world.

Colmar is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. This city was founded in the 9th century. Colmar is located about 64 kilometres and south-southwest of Strasbourg, directly to the east of the Vosges Mountains. Because we can find beautiful river along this city, that’s why Colmar is connected to the Rhine by a canal. The city is also the birthplace of famous painter and engraver as well. They are Martin Schongauer and the sculptor Frédéric Bartholdi, who designed the Statue of Liberty. Colmar was surrounded by beautiful architecture and landmark, like: Unterlinden Museum. Colmar wasn’t just a small city in Alsace. This city is also well known as "Alsatian Wine Center", because it’s located in “Alsatian” path wine. Colmar has warm climate and the second driest city in France. That’s why this city also ideal for the wineries. What can we find here? We can see old building with beautiful color, gardens, fountains and canals. Most of people called this "Little Venice" (La Petite Venise).
Some people said, “Love at the first sight”. So, what do you think about this island for the first time? Do you think this island was inhabited by the Hobbits and Elves from "The Lord of the Rings". The Faroe Islands itself is a group of islands situated between the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean, approximately halfway between Scotland and Iceland (in the heart of the Gulf Stream in the North Atlantic at 62°00’N). This island also situated in the territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, along with Denmark proper and Greenland. Faros Island consist about 18 islands 1399 km2 (545.3 square miles) and is 113 km (70 miles) long and 75 km (47 miles) wide. Most of 1100 km is a coastline. The weather is quite changeable from sunshine to misty hill fog, to showers. The average temperature ranges from 3°C in winter to 11°C in the summer. Faroe Island is like the real house with beautiful and dramatic scenery from the volcanic peak, even ocean waves hitting the rocky coastline. The island is really quite magical and mysterious with a landscape that makes us drifted into the fantasy than the real world.

Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany
A fairy tale is always identical with castle. This was a place where a king and queen lived. This castle is located on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in southwest Bavaria, Germany. Neuschwanstein itself is one of the most famous castles of the world and one of the most popular of all the palaces and castles in Europe it was built and created by King Ludwig of Bavaria. Neuschwanstein castle was opened to the public in 1886, seven weeks after the death of King Ludwig II. Many people called this, "the castle of the fairy-tale king". We can see breathtaking scenery from here, because this castle is perched on a rock in front of the Allgäu mountain panorama. That’s why many tourists come to this place. About 1.3 million people visit this castle every year and about 6,000 visitors a day stream through rooms in the summer.
Did you remember Aladdin story? The story begun when a young troublemaker named Aladdin found a wonderful lamp. When he rubbed the lamp and a huge person appeared, he was a genie. The story ended with happy ending, where Aladdin and Jasmine lived in the palace happily forever.
To remind us about the Aladdin story, there’s a beautiful place in Turkey. It called Cappadocia. It is a unique place in the world and is a miraculous nature wonder. Cappadocia is located in Central Anatolia, largely in Nevşehir Province. This place recorded earliest from the late 6th century BC. At that time the first human settlements have begun and the humans have constructed the underground cities in the volcanic rocks. They did this to protect themselves from the wild animals and they lived for long times at this place. The people called this underground city. Actually there are so many underground cities Cappadocia (Turkey), but the biggest is Derinkuyu Underground City. Some of the rooms were connected to each other only with the tight tunnels, passing of just one person. This area is popular for tourist destination, it has many areas with unique geological, historic and cultural features. The biggest reason why they love to visit Cappadocia is because of the uniqueness of topography.
Greenland is well known as the largest Island in the world, about 2.166.086 square kilometers. Greenland is an island in the northern Atlantic Ocean in the northeast of Canada. This island belonged to the Kingdom of Denmark. Geographically, Greenland is part of North America with 80% the entire region covered by thick ice. Untouchable, remote and difficult to reach is the word to describe the Greenland with unspoiled scenery. With 55,000 inhabitants, Greenland offers space and a challenge for hikers, mountain climbers and mountain bikers. Cruising Greenland is a wonderful experience while exploring icebergs, large whales, seals and walruses. There’s something beautiful about Greenland, we can found mosaic of colorful houses, painted with bright colors.
Kyoto Bamboo Forest
The background of this forest like what we have seen in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon or House of Flying Daggers movie. This forest is an example of the hundreds of magnificent forests in Southeast Asia. Bamboo has an important role in Asian culture as a symbol of longevity in China, a symbol of friendship in India and Japan, many Shinto Temples surrounded by bamboo forests. We can see another function of bamboo as a sacred barrier to against evil spirits. This time we talk about the Sagano Bamboo Grove. This forest is located in the Sagano Arashiyama area of Kyoto (about 25 minutes from central Kyoto). What can we see here? We can see a beautiful forest with a path through its heart. It is located right beside Tenryuji (Zen Temple) as a world heritage and Arashiyama Mountain as a backdrop. This place is nice walk or bicycle ride. The bamboo groves make a nice for walk or bicycle ride. This bamboo was particularly attractive when there is a light wind and the tall bamboo stalks sway gently.
Sintra is a town in Sintra Municipality in Portugal, located in the Grande Lisboa subregion and the Lisbon Region. This town is become popular as travel destination with many tourist attractions. What can we see here? We can see fabulous Pena Palace, the castle Castelo dos Mouros, and the summer residence of the kings of Portugal Palácio Nacional de Sintra. Pena Palace was built in 19th c. The castle Castelo dos Mouros was built in 8th or 9th century and reconstructed in the 19th century. Palácio Nacional de Sintra was built largely in 15th/16th century. These are three amazing palaces in Sintra. Sintra was designated World Heritage Site in 1995, for the "Cultural Landscape of Sintra". Major activities in the area are tourism and commerce. Don't forget to visit the mountains of Sintra, which is the largest park in Lisbon also add a mysterious charm of this city.
