Updated on June 25, 2019

If we talk about Italy, I believe you will agree with me that this country has many beautiful tourism places. Italy is also known as one of the most amazing countries in Europe. Italy became a top destination country in a series of tours in Europe. This time I’ll talk about Florence. Firenze (Italian) or Florence (French) is the regional capital of Tuscany in the centre of Italy. Florence lies on the River Arno. It is just 300 km south from Milan and 280 km north from Rome or about 80 km east of the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. If we talk about Florence, we will acknowledge about art (renaissance) and architecture, among the cultural heritage. There are many historical places in this city, such as: museums, churches, gardens, academies, art galleries, monasteries, park, Renaissance Palaces, and elegant square. That’s why Florence also been nominated as the most desirable destination for tourists in the world and it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982.

Florence is also well known as the capital city for art lovers. This city also as the birthplace and the best home of many notable historical figures, like: Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei, Donatello, etc. This is one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Many tourists agree that Florence is a historic city with a masterpiece of architecture, painting, sculpture and natural beauty. “Eh oui! très bonne idee!” , said the French. It means good idea. Colorful city that was so beautiful, stone bridge that crosses the Arno River, a high tower are became a pleasant experience.

In every corner of the city, we can see beautiful scenery, which will always attract the eyes. We like surrounded by history, tour in Florence means rotates in the city itself without having to leave at all. It takes three up to four nights to uncover at least half of the town.

What can we see in Firenze?

Town square named Piazza del Duomo which is located in the heart of the historic centre of Florence. This place is good for some serious walking. Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral is the fourth largest church in Europe. Built in stages, the first construction began in 1296 and it's ended in the year 1412. This cathedral has a floor and roof with beautiful mosaics and paintings. All tourists must be busy with their cameras to capture all the beauty inside this building.

Giotto Campanile tower is the next visit. This is an amazing tower which has about 500 steps, we can see the whole city of Florence. Hundreds of stairs that take us on the top gave us beautiful scenery like a carpet with a painting of a city. Large and small building is like a city miniature.

Uffizi is one of the famous art galleries in the world. There’s a largest collection of Botticelli's works inside this museum beside others artist like: Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo da Vinci, and many others. Ponte Vecchio ('Bridge Old' or Old Bridge) was the only of Florence’s Bridges which was not to blown up in the Second World War. Many people said that this is the busiest bridge in the world. I know there are many religious architectures, museum, palaces, villas, park, square, garden and arches which I can’t mention one by one. But I hope all the pictures here can represent all descriptions here.

A little tips for us

A friend of mine gave me useful tips if we want to go to some of beautiful places in Florence without getting trouble. The first tips is try to buy tickets from the internet before we go to museum, such as Uffizi Museum as the famous museum in the world, because the line could take one to two hours or even more. In Florence tourist internet site, we can buy some tickets to visit tourist attractions in accordance with the days and hours that we want. The second tips is tried to find lodgings in the city, because Florence has so many attractions to visit. With overnight stay in the city, we can save time in travel. Lodging in Florence is not too expensive, my friend suggested us to choose apartment. This is for family holiday. In the apartment, the kitchen is always supplied complete with utensils. We only need to buy others ingredients to be cooked. So, we can save the money. The final tips is be careful in choosing restaurants and café. Florence is a tourist city, don’t be surprised if many restaurants do not set their prices. Service is not included in the price of food, this system mostly in the Italian restaurant. There’s an additional fee for a rental forks, knives, plates, cups, spoons in the bill. Fortunately there are some restaurants which clearly write on the board outside if the service and rentals are included in the price of food. Don't be surprised with so many commercial opportunities here.
