Great Florida Vacation Spots: Miami

When people think of vacationing in Florida, Miami is often one of the locations that immediately comes to mind. Miami is world-famous for its beaches, nightlife, atmosphere, and culture that, when combined, offers up one of the top vacation destinations in the country. This article will talk about a few terrific Florida vacation spots in the city of Miami, Florida.

Florida Vacation Spots: South Beach

People flock to Miami for many reasons. One of the main reasons why Miami is such a popular vacation destination is South Beach, a thriving community featuring pristine sandy beaches and plenty of fun in the sun. If you want a trendy experience complete with the best shopping, dining, and nightlife around, then South Beach is for you. You can also enjoy the pleasures of the ocean with a wide variety of marine activities, such as jet-skiing, scuba diving, windsurfing, and deep-sea fishing (among others). At night you can also peruse the various nightclubs and restaurants that call South Beach home for great live music and even better cuisine. South Beach is the place to be in Miami if you like great beach fun and a party.

Florida Vacation Spots: Miami Seaquarium and the Everglades

You may be a fan of aquariums and may have even visited some of the best aquariums in the country, but I bet you have not visited one like this. The Seaquarium, located between Miami and Miami Beach, is an outdoor aquarium with plenty to see and do. You can swim with the dolphins (try it, it’s amazing), check out an awesome animal show, and get up close and personal with a massive killer whale.

For a more unique experience in the outdoors, head to the Everglades National Park. The Everglades is famous for being one of the most unique and awe-inspiring swamps and national parks in the country. With 1.5 million acres of wild swampland and jungle, home to thousands of species of animals (yes, even alligators), the Everglades promises to give you a rewarding experience in the great outdoors. You can even take canoe rides through the park and observe the amazing wildlife that you will see all around you. The Everglades is a must-see attraction for any visitor to the Miami area.

Florida Vacation Spots: Downtown Miami

If you head into the city itself, you are sure to find a wide and engaging variety of incredible exhibits and attractions for your vacation. If you have children, take them to the Miami Children’s Museum, where they can play in a fun and educational environment. You can also go to the Miami Science Museum and take part in hands-on exhibits that are fun for all ages. The Miami MetroZoo is one of the best places in the country to see wildlife and is another great feature of downtown Miami. After you go here, take a trip to the Parrot Jungle Island, an exotic location with plenty of gorgeous parrots, birds, and other species of wildlife that you probably will not be able to see at home. And of course, there are many bars, clubs, and restaurants with live music and mouth-watering food.
