Portofino Island Resort & Spa

Portofino Island Resort & Spa is located in the stunning Pensacola Beach, Florida. Surrounded by beautiful blue waters on either side, the Gulf of Mexico on one and Pensacola Bay on the other, the glistening white sand catches your eye as soon as you cross the bridge onto the island. The resort entails a five tower complex, each sporting their own pool along with two additional infinity pools located along the bay. Portofino boasts an indoor heated pool, as well as a full fitness center and two in-house restaurants.

The Unit

The rooms at Portofino are exceptional. The smallest rooms are very spacious and could easily fit a family of five with room to spare. The larger rooms are simply massive and are well worth the price. The units (rooms) can either be purchased and rented out through the owner, or rented through the resort itself. It's best to weigh your options price wise and see if you can get a price that you are happy with. The smallest units are two bedrooms, each with their own bath. Another half bath is provided, as well as all the necessities (Refrigerator, stove / oven, microwave, washer and dryer.) These may differ depending on who you get the room from, but from what I have seen and heard from other owners, most come complete with those.

This resort has many things, but a shortage of activities to keep children and adults alike entertained is certainly not one of them.

  • Jet ski rentals
  • Beach chairs / umbrellas for lazy lounging days
  • Ferry rides to the boardwalk
  • Full spa
  • Fitness center (with optional classes available)
  • Two restaurants on the grounds
  • Dozens of quality eateries within just 2-3 miles
  • Beautiful beaches on BOTH sides of the resort

These are only a small portion of the activities to keep you busy at Portofino Island Resort.

Blue Angels Doing What They Do Best!

Blue Angels Air Show

The Blue Angels Team of the United States Navy train out of Pensacola. They do regular air shows all year, but when they come home to Pensacola, they really do it big. These pilots perform maneuvers that will leave you speechless, in awe, with chills. That is a promise! When they do their homecoming shows over the beach, they often turn right in front of the resort or fly directly over the top of it. They fly over the entire week before the show, doing practice runs. So if you arrive early, expect to see and HEAR them quite a bit. I would recommend this show to everyone, whether you stay at Portofino or not, you need to see this at least once in your lifetime!

Thanks so much Arlene. I'm glad you enjoy them. I try to give the information that I would find important if I were the one looking for places to go.

You nailed it, again, thebeast. Enjoy your travel Hubs. I certainly liked that last one you did on that mansion in Louisiana. This one is a well-written travel hub with practical travel information for me and Blue Angels information for my husband, the aviation freak. We caught the Blue Angels at our annual air show at Mather AFB in Sacramento and wouldn't mind seeing them at their home base in Florida. Voted up, useful and interesting. Thanks!
