Top Five Places to Visit before they Disappear for Ever:

Updated on November 15, 2012

The world is full of many beautiful places. Some of these are notable for the natural beauty and some for ancient human architectures. Because of the ever increasing pollution some of these places are taking the damages. Some of these invaluable places and sites will be soon lost forever. For a tourist, for every one of us it is a duty to visit these places before they fades for ever from the reality to our myth and memory. There are many such endangered sites on planet earth; I am enlisting five best of them here. My list of top five places to visit before they disappear is as follows:

The Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef

1) The Great Barrier Reef, Australia

The Great Barrier Reef is the best natural gift of Australia. It is the world’s largest coral reef system, having a length of 2600 km and an area of approx, 344,000 sq km. This reef is visible from space. For its collection of beautiful collections of colorful corals, fishes and millions of different aquatic animals, this reef is very popular worldwide.

Higher and higher goes the sea level with ever increasing temperature. This is very harmful for the Great Barrier Reef. Moreover, the increasing temperature of sea water is equally injuring the reef. Very soon, this great natural beauty will be erased from the Australian coasts. Visit it as soon as possible.

The Great Barrier Reef's under water beauty is a scene which will hunt you for ever. That is the spot which you must visit or it will be vanished within 100 years.

2) Maldives,Asia

The republic of Maldives is situated in the Indian Ocean. This island country is very beautiful. There are 1192 coral islands in Maldives. The great beauty of the sunlit tropical sea and coral coconut islands bring thousands of tourists every year.

Maldives is the world’s lowest country. There is no hill or high spot here. That is why the threat of increment of sea water level brings a bleak and devastating future for this island country. This country may be submerged totally under the sea within 50 years. In this way this lovely archipelago will disappear soon from earth.

3) The Valley of Kings,Egypt

The Egyptian valley of kings contains the tombs of hundreds of ancient Egyptian kings and notable nobles. The most famous among these is the tomb of the emperor Tutankhamen. This valley is made of marble stones. These marble stones are corroding fast with the increment of sulfur and other acidic contain in air. These great and invaluable tombs are disappearing quickly.

Victoria Falls

4) Victoria Falls, Africa

Victoria Falls is on the Zambezi river between Zimbabwe and Zambia. The great British explorer David Livingstone discovered and named it. This is the largest waterfall of the world, having a height of 108 meters and width of 1,708 meters.

The spray from this waterfall is visible from 50km distance. Even a moon bow is visible like a rainbow during the time of full moon. Mosi-oa-Tunya, which means ‘The Smoke that Thunders’ is the native name of this great water fall. Water rafting, river boarding and bungee jumping are the favorite tourist activities here. The change of climate for the environmental change is making the Zambezi river drying. As a result, this fall is drying too. Visit this place before disappearing.

The Everglades,U.S.A.

This beautiful subtropical natural wetland is situated in southern part of Florida. Because of its unfortunate existence inside a super industrial nation, the Everglades faced tortures from men for many years. Many parts of these wetland was converted into housing areas or farmland. Rapid destruction of these natural landsacape is somehow stopped in modern times. But this wetland is gradually drying up. Soon, within 50/100 years it might be vanished. Travel to it before the arrival of these days.

Everglades is a national park now. There is many recreational activities for the tourist like: bird and alligator watching, camping, touring, cycling etc.

things like, I'm not as smart as the other kids in my class. Have you used the Quotient ADHD System machine to help track your dahugter's ADHD? I'm considering this as an option but would like to know more about it first. Thanks for your support.Linda

It's funny, I live in Australia, and have so almost my whole life. I've seen so many natural wonders around the world, but I've never been to the Great Barrier Reef. I think we all take for granted what we have at home.

I have snorkled at the Great Barrier Reef in QLD & it is beautiful. I loved it at Ningaloo Reef in WA where I swam with a turtle , you dont need to pay for a boat there so it is cheaper!

Useful collection which creates awareness towards our nature. One must be aware about our future and saving our climates. People should take further steps to save earth and our climate.

Everglades is all about swamps @fieldgate. Climate change is what everybody afraid for. It is a real danger lurking near.

Everglades isn't particulary interesting. You see nothing, but swamps, and you're bitten by mosquitoes all the time.

I thought Iguazu Falls were greater than Victoria. But, in this case it doesn't matter.

And, what is climate change? Is it for real?

Great travel ideas. A couple of the places such as the Great Barrier Reef, the everglades, and the valley of the kings are places that I hope to visit someday. Hopefully they will still be there and in decent shape by the time I finally am able to make the trek, so many places so little time.
