Write on current issues and on your interests. Invent a fun, captivating way so that virewers are impressed. Importantly also, u can make money while you are doing all that. Check out http://hubpages.com/hub/makemoneyonlinewithyourarticles
Write about anything that you can write 800-1500 words about. 800 words is just enough to get someone hooked in what you're writing and 1500 words is the maximum number of words someone usually pays attention for.
As far as bringing people to your site, try doing a little search engine optimization.
