I am going backpacking through Europe for 2 and a half week. Specifically Amsterdam, how long is...
good to stay in Amsterdam and is there anything else worse seeing in Holland?
Amsterdam is a small city... you can easily walk from end to end. I stayed there for three days and felt one more day would have been sufficient. Of course, it all depends on how sidetracked you get from all of the vice and sin that Amsterdam is famous for. Definitely see the Anne Frank House, The Van Gogh Museum, and the Heineken Brewery. As far as the rest of Holland goes, I've never been, but there are lots of quintessentially Dutch things to see in the countryside.
I am debating going from Amsterdam Holland up North To Sweden or south to Germany/France. Can't come to a decision. I have 2 and a half weeks of fun before i got to go back to work? What do you recommend?
What time of year are you going to be here?
Definately makes a difference to which places I would recommend!
Amsterdam is a neat town worth checking out. I am not sure how long you could stay, it is pretty small. Belgium is not too far away. I would also consider going to Berlin - I love it - lots of history and things to see. I have never been up in Sweden or Norway.
I would recommend not spreading yourself to thin and take time to relax in a few places. Highly recommend the train! Have fun!!
