It's almost the weekend, any suggestions on what to do in northern California?
No. California is a very big place, it would depend on where you are in No. Calif.
Sacramento has a great zoo and museum and the capitol building is very cool. Lake Tahoe is in No. Calif. so if you like gambling and shows, you can go there. San Francisco has tons of things to do and see. China Town, Fisherman's Wharf and the chocolate people (can't spell it).
A drive east on Hwy 80 out of the Sacramento area towards the mountains is beautiful and head to Grass Valley. Or take Hwy 49 through Placerville and Coloma to see all the gold country.
Oh I got homesick remembering all those places!

Where is the best place to visit in northern California? We would like to see things that are off the beaten track. We also would love to eat at restaurants that are wonderful but not advertised;the kind Guy Ferri goes to and eats at! Mostly we want to explore the beauty of California.
