The airlines are consolidating passengers into aircraft by shrinking seat depth, moving them closer together and putting more rows of seats in. I find Delta and Jetblue tend to have decent room. Bring only small bags into the seat with you.

In the foreseeable future, do you think we'll see regulations on minimum seat dimensions for airlines?  At some point isn't the flying public going to rebel against being packed in like sardines?  And do you think forcing people to carry on so much luggage has to reach a tipping point soon on boarding delays and limited space?

Those regs. might be on the horizon. No real way to know for certain. In the past several years the FAA implemented tarmac wait time regs. Airlines can only keep pax on a plane not moving on tarmac for 3 hours - a result of pax complaints & lawsu

The most important thing when travelling to another country with the whole new culture and language is to book everything in advance. Even the airport transfer. I always use http://kiwitaxi.com service for such a purpose, and it works totally great.

Sometimes there's so much fun and adventure in figuring it out as you go. But, a plan is always a must! Good tip. Where do you like to travel?
