For a long time the Big Island was neglected by visitors due to a lack of beaches. Today most of the resorts along the Kohala Coast have their own man-made beaches and in addition to that Hawaii offers some of the most unique and colorful beaches in the state.

Samuel M. Spencer Beach Park: the top beach, excellent for swimming and snorkeling, nice facilities and ample marine life.
