   Hello whitney, my name is ella, im from england. I have a question that im hoping you can help me with. I have been housing leopard geckos for the last 6 years. I have two females that have been housed together since they hatched on the same day. they have never had a problem, always sleep together and get very stressed if they are ever sepirated. Today something changed!!my larger female has a huge cut at the base of her tail, its not bleeding but it looks very deep. I have put her in a viv on her own, only with kitchen roll to minimize infection. what else can i do before going to the vet?

   See if it heals on its own. If it doesn't heal or starts to look infected, then find a vet. Also try to find out what cut the gecko. Did the other gecko, something in the enclosure, or did the gecko do it to herself?

   You should try to find the sourse of the cut. Have you added anything new to the enviorment they're living in, or taken anything out? Has there been any drastic changes in climate where you set the geckos? Maybe you should put them in seperate cages, and if the geckos are still getting cut, try giving them somewhere more comfortable to stay, but first, take the gecko to a vet to see if the cut is infected. I hope this advise helps!!!

   Nothing has changed at all. I think that it was one of my other females. for the passed few nights i have been hearing lots of scuffeling. I have moved her on her own. I have also made sure that her humid hide only has kitchen roll in, rather than the old eco earth as i know that this will cause infection. Previously when one of my leos caught a nail on reptile carpet that i used to use i used an iodine solution for two weeks and it cleared up. Im unsure if i should use it again as it is rather open. Though it has not bled. There was no blood on any of the kitchen roll or anywhere in the vivarium. There is nothing in the vivarium that could cause any damage or harm to any of the geckos. everything is protected.
   Is there any sort of creams that i can use. or anything on the market for reptiles that is safe and reliable?
   I left her for a few hours so that she could just relax with out the other geckos. She is not in a new vivarium but i am able to partition sections so this is what i have done and i have used some of the same hides that she had before to try and reduce stress( although im sure that she has had enough)
   
   Please help!!!!!

   you should take her to the vet, but you should put neosporn on it.
