Aelita Andre, the Next Jackson Pollock and the Youngest Abstract Painter

I said many times from my previous hub that I love art. I can see how many people felt happy if they have sense of art from their self. The happiness will arise after enjoy the beauty of art. Now, I am talking again about painting. There are many painting streams and most of artists have their own favorite painter. They can imitate and develop their skill into beautiful painting, finally they will be success. From this hub I will share a very talented painter. A little girl but she has a great talent. Actually I had wrote the same topic like this one, I hope you remember about “Keiron Williamson, The Young Picasso”. He is one of the youngest painter who live at Holt, Nortfolk. People called him a young Picasso.

Gifted or talented

Is it a gifted or talented? I had browse and find the true meaning between gifted and talented. “Gifted or talented” are the meaning for those who have potential to develop those abilities. If we talk from the education side, “gifted' is for those who have abilities to one or more academic subjects, like English and maths. But 'talented' is who have abilities to the practical skills in areas like music, sport, design or creative and performing arts. I believe that we can find kind of the children who had a great talent. The parents have a role to provide greater challenges in lessons and opportunities for the children who have talent to demonstrate and develop their abilities. Schools may also provide additional activities beyond the everyday timetable.

Source

Many people think their child is gifted or talented. They have a big job to discover how they can be sure that you have a little genius on their hands. They can stimulate and speed up their child’s early development. They might have a child prodigy in their midst. Discover how to develop and stimulate specific abilities and talents in areas of music, art, mechanics, arithmetic, and more. Another factor is social development. It is equally as important as intellectual development. Successful adults are well-rounded people able to function in all areas of life and their children are able to interact socially.

A little about Aelita Andre

From this hub, I’ll introduce another youngest painter who has beautiful artwork and I heard that most of her artworks are valuable. Many people adore her and she became a good example for the young generation. Her name is Aelita Andre. She is five years old an Australian abstract artist. She was born on January 9, 2007. She was born to Australian father, namely Michael Andre and Russian mother, namely Nikka Kalashnikova. From trusted information said that she began to paint when aged nine months or before she could walk. Aelita’s mother believed her daughter as a child prodigy. Her work began to be exhibited to the public at the age of 22 months. From there, Aelita succeeded in grabbing the attention of art critics and labeled as a professional artist of abstract paintings. Finding a talented painter in the very young age is very rare.

Her work began to be exhibited to the public at the age of 22 months. From there, Aelita succeeded in grabbing the attention of many art critics and labeled as a professional artist of abstract paintings.

She is so adorable

“The Prodigy of Color“ as the first Aelita’s exhibition was held on Saturday, June 4 through June 25, 2011 at the Agora Gallery, a vanity gallery in Chelsea. Over 24 of her paintings for sale between $4,400 and $10,000 with sold for a total of more than $30,000. She is bringing 22 paintings in her second solo exhibit ion, namely "Aelita Andre: Secret Universe" with the price from the smallest (about 18 x 36 inches) $4600 to the largest (132 x 60 inches) $12,900. She broke a record by selling her paintings Russian space station with the price of $24,000 when she and her parents visited Hong Kong. According to the BBC, these sales are so fantastic. The exhibition offers a child fantasy, like dinosaurs, unicorns and outer space.Even the press nicknamed her as "the Pee-wee Picasso".

In a review that was written years ago, an editor of the New York Times Horrowitz Noah believed that Aelita as the next Jackson Pollock. She had a pretty significant difference though Aelita considered to have the talent because being trained by her parents who are also artists. From the interview during the exhibition, she said that she likes all colours, even black and even grey and even white. But the most colour she like is blue and red and green and also silver and gold. Angela Di Bello as Agora Gallery Director described that Aelita has the gap between the abstract and realism. Her paintings are basically abstract expressionist drippings and all of them are very painterly stroke. Although young, art experts agree that Aelita's art can’t be compared with an ordinary child. Her works are so thoughtful and well-composed. Even some art experts compare Aelita's work to famed abstract artist, Jackson Pollock. From her action in painting through the video, she's so adorable. Are you really agreed with them? Please enjoy the video below.

The people said:

  • “Vivid abstracts full of life, movement and dazzling colour”, by Germaine Greer/ the Guardian
  • “Is Aelita the next Jackson Pollock”, by Noah Horowitz/The New York Times
  • “4-year-old-girl takes art world by storm”, by Pei-Sze Chang/NBC

Now the painter who considered a child prodigy is back to show her works in an exhibition in New York, at Agora Gallery. Her exhibition held on June 12 to July 3, 2012. We can also discover Aelita and her artworks in the May 2011 ArtisSpectrum Magazine.

A colourful endearing hub that was a joy to read. This wonderful little abstract artist has received quite a lot of publicity in Australia and I for one just love the artwork that she has done so far. I only hope that her parents do not pressure her to produce work for fame/monetary gain.

People more often than not are critical of abstract art as being 'easy', 'simple' 'a child could do it' because it is not so clear cut as a landscape or portrait piece of work.

Abstract art actually takes some planning and doing to get it 'picture perfect' and not just looking like a painted-mess ... I know because when I am not writing I am usually found with a paintbrush in my hand painting what I like to call my abstractions. :)

Voted up and definitely worthy of sharing.

Dear friend, UrsulaRose. Thank you very much for coming and share your knowledge about abstract. I am glad to know that you also familiar with Aelita andrew. She's so popular in Australia as her hometown. I have the same idea with you that her parents wouldn't exploit her to get the money. But they help to develop her talent into a great artist in the future. As we know that both of her parents are artist as well. Abstract isn't only a simple painting, but it represent the painter feeling and it contain deep meaning. Have a nice weekend :-)

Love and peace,

I saw a documentary about her a couple years ago. Really an amazing child. There is a lot of speculation (or was at the time) about whether her parents were actually "helping" her with her work, but it was clear from the footage of her at that time, that she loved her creative process and it was fun watching her develop her art.

It's a wonderful story, one that captures the imagination, but I'm sorry, a five-year-old simply doesn't have the maturity to produce abstract paintings on a par with great artists like Pollock or Picasso. The celebrity status surrounding this child appears to be a commercial machine driven by ambitious parents and an unscrupulous art dealer. There are many contemporary artists producing significant, mature work who deserve such extensive media attention and the support of serious collectors.

I love your report pras and the videos make it pretty clear that Aelita is not just another talented child being exploited by her parents. She loves painting and it's clear, these are her own creations.

Many great artists have mentors and I believe parents, especially should encourage and nurture a child's talent. Too many parents do the opposite. Here's to the next Pollack ....the happy version :)
