    What Camera Do You Use?

If you use a camera, what type of camera it is? A Digital SLR, Compact or Mobile Phone Camera?

I use an old Canon 300D. It's an SLR, of course.  I also use my iPhone 5 camera even more.

I use a Canon Point and Shoot type Powershot A1000 IS. Fits in the pocket easily. I purchased it to take pics at the drag racing events I go to while walking in the pits. Those are the exciting ones for me. I can get action pics of the race events off the internet far better than I could ever produce in the stands. However, I am pondering wildlife photography. That is a pricey hobby it seems with recommended DSLR and lenses. I will ponder . . .

    Sony A700.
I was a Minolta user for many years ad all of my lenses work with the Sony, although it is a C sensor. I love the camera but I have to admit that it is a little heavy. Someday I'll move up to one of the newer mirror-less full frame A mount cameras but right now it isn't in the budget.
My other cameras are a Sony W150 and my cell camera. I also have a Polaroid action cam that I just got but haven't yet tried.

I keep hearing that weight concern about the A700.  I wonder how heavy it is?

The A700 is 798g which actually isn't that heavy compared to other DSLRs. It is much lighter than a Nikon D700. Check out this site http://camerasize.com/ for weight & size comparisons.

I use an Olympus E-510 DSRL with a variety of lenses. I use both Zuiko (Olympus lenses) as well as Sigma lenses.

    jainismus,
I just found Hubpages, so I thought I would start with the topics I am comfortable with.   I understand this is not the normal, every day cameras that most people would have on hand, so I am not saying you "need" a specific one. For my jobs, I use a Nikon D4 and an Nikon D800.  I still keep my D300 in my bag.
I carry a nikon coolpix and a canon g10 for personal pictures.  But oddly enough, I still capture a ton of photos and video on my Iphone

Anyone looking to buy a camera.  I suggest picking one up in the store. See which one feels good in your hand, which on has a menu that you like ( and understand).  You can even rent cameras to try them out.  Once you figure out which one works for your needs,  it is the glass that really will carry you far.

    Hope this helps.

I have used a Nikon D200 SLR for many years but upgraded to a Nikon D300s last week.  I also use a Nokia N8 mobile phone which is reputed to have one of the best camera's ever put into a mobile phone.  It has a Carl Zeus Lens with great video.
