It all depends what the job your doing is and whether you have any rights as a worker to answer this question properly. When working for minimum wages or private business, you really don't have a leg to stand on when the boss says no UNLESS he/she has a higher up you can ask permission from. IF your unionized go to a doctor who will verify that you need time off and see your WCB where it applies.
