Has anyone switched their account to a subdomain?
Has it affected the traffic flow? Comments/suggestions please!
Yes I have -- and no looking back.
Initially, due to the nature of the 301 redirect all my hub traffic plummeted as I was systematically de-indexed. Within a week they were all up and ranked again, and the traffic is higher than it was before the change.
So much so that it is back to the way it was before Google slapped Hubpages.
If you are the author of quality hubs, a subdomain change will have an enormously positive effect (because you're no longer lumped in with everyone else in Google's eyes), if not, then you may struggle.
I recommend it.
yes, I have. There isn't a big change yet, but it certainly hasn't had any negative effect at all.
I did it last night. No news to report at this time. It was a leap of faith.
Yep, just yesterday and traffic seems to have dropped way down but early days so fingers crossed.
I just did. I like the personal touch. As soon as the flow changes in some way I'll post to that effect.
Yes . I held my breath for the first week, especially when my star hub bottomed out -- it had been 3rd in the SERPS for its primary keywords. After that, all back up again, and nearly pre-panda now! I'd been reduced to about 20%-30% of pre-panda levels before the sub-domains came along. Now that star hub is 1st in SERPS, and I have another one that came from complete obsolescence (as in...published in 2009 and had 50 overall hits before today) that actually got more hits than my best hub today! Crossing fingers that continues. I've been trying to determine if that's because someone posted it in a forum, but my incoming traffic is showing all from search engines except a few places where I have personally posted links, and I can't find a backlink for that particular hub anywhere. Waiting for Analytics to update so I can check which related keywords are bringing people in. In short, sub-domain has been SOOOO worth it.
I've taken the plunge and, yep, traffic dropped abrubtly. Now looking forward to the re-indexing and return of traffic ... with fingers crossed
I did it a few days back and as expected, the traffic has gone down.
I did Ruchira - last week and the only think I hate is that we lost all our Facebook Likes - didn't mesh with the change:( I did want to get the subdomain name RealHousewife - so I did right away. Actually - my traffic has gone up a bit. I anticipated it would go down so I joined Twitter and stumble upon and am using those resources.

Just gaging anyone else's earnings here. I just checked google adsense and I have earned 64 dollars in 18 months. I've only written 19 Hubs and most of them don't get any traffic. Any thoughts?

I'm curious if anyone has tested by a month to month basis whether or not you make more with Adsense alone or with HP Ads?It's impossible to do a true split test, since each month will be different, but I'm curious to hear your results...Some of us won't get a lot of traffic so Adsense might be...

I've just checked my Analytics and I can see a definite change in my traffic on May 3 and 4. My HubPages account seems to be heading for the toilet again, after recovering all its traffic in the last Panda. All my other sites are affected by 20-30% - some up, some down.It looks...

So I have 2 accounts here. This one is my main writing site. I write to provide information and never tried hard to make money or optimize for SEO or any of that. This account has 29 hubs. I used to get over 20 google views a day over those hubs (most views on one or two hubs). In the last 7 days,...
