What if I am surfing on hub pages and I see something I want to check out in an advertisement?

Someone told me we cannot click on ads on other hub pages but this doesn't sound right to me. What if I am truly interested in a book being advertised after reading a hub in the literature category, shouldn't I be allowed to click on the ad?

I am not sure.  I know we are not supposed to click on our own ads, as that would be cheating.  If you are worried though, simply copy the title of the book, go to amazon, paste and search for it yourself.

Good answer but still I do not think that it shouldn't  be any different for someone who has a hub to click on another hubs ad.

Hopefully, one of the hub pages editors will see my post and clarify this question more specifically for us all.

You can certainly click on ad's in another hubbers hub, why wouldn't you be able to? Otherwise people could only make money from those coming from outside HubPages and that isn't exactly fair.

The only reason you can't click on your own ad's on your hub's is that it's against Google's T&C's, otherwise people would be gaming the system and constantly clicking on their own ad's to get money. Don't worry about clicking on ad's on hubs that aren't your own though, they have different publishing ID's to your's so aren't related to your Adsense account in any way.

Of course if you're consitently clicking on another Hubber's ad's then that's different as it's an unusual spike in traffic which Google would notice. In other words you can't help out a friend by clicking their ad's.

Thanks, that's kind of what I thought too.

Do not click on ads on your own hubs, and do not click on ads in hubs of friends for family. Ads in any other hub, if you are genuinely interested in the product, click on in (just once).

To quote moderator Paul Edmundson on a previous occasion that this topic was raised:
"Clicking on other people's ads is a big no,no and will likely result in getting banned from AdSense and HubPages"

If you're genuinely interested in an ad, you can still see it without clicking on it - just copy and paste its URL into your browser. Don't risk being mistakenly seen as someone clicking ads just to make money for fellow hubbers.

If you copy the URL and paste it, it includes the referral link and all code to track and is NO DIFFERENT than actually clicking on it.

Really? Thanks for the correction. In that case just type the URL.
