How does earnings from referrals contribute to the earnings of successful writer

    How does earnings from referrals contribute to the earnings of successful writers on Hubpages?

    When successful Hubbers write about their earnings from Hubpages, don't you get the impression something is missing? They usually write of their good titles, getting traffic, SEO, help from fellow Hubbers etc. But for example, what about earnings from referrals? Any other area you feel you would like info on earnings experience from writing on Hubpages?

    Although it may benefit them, I doubt it is very substantial. The difficulty is not getting people to sign up, but getting people to write. If you refer someone who writes 100 articles, that could certainly give you an extra $5-$10 in the bank every month, but that's not very common.

    It is not a good idea to try to get as many people as possible to sign up. HubPages gets ranked on Google based on the value of the information. The more good writers on HubPages, the higher all of our ratings will go. The more bad writers, the lower our ratings could potentially go.

    Recommend HubPages to talented writers, but do not try to get everyone and their grandma to sign up.

      To that end, it would benefit outside readers if HP would change the commenting area so that it is more OBVIOUS that guests readers can comment, instead of making it look as if they have to sign up to do so.

      It's great to have your response, Robert Erich. Thank you for confirming that it's tough to make a decent income from referrals. Even good writers, are they really making good money on Hubpages? Is it really worth the time and effort?
